PUTTING CHIROPRACTIC FIRST IN OUR COMMUNITY'S HEALTH

UNPLUG DURING SCREEN-FREE WEEK

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends zero screen time for children under 2 and less han two hours per day for older children. Yet, the Kaiser Family Foundation reports that 40 percent of 3 month old infants are regular viewers of television and DVD's and school age kids spend nearly twice as many hours with screen media such as television, video games, computers and handheld devices as they spend atending school. To help kids, families, schools and communities turn off screens and turen on healthier activities, the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC) urges everyone to participate in Screen-Free Week, April 30 through May 6.

CCFC is a national coalition of health care professionals, educators, advocacy groups, parents and individuals, with a mission to reclaim childhood from corporate marketers. Learn more at www.Commercial-FreeChildhood.org.

The Hamilton County Chiropractic Association represents chiropractors in the Hamilton County, Tennessee metropolitan area. This area contains over 120 Doctors of Chiropractic.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Hamilton County Chiropractic Association (HCCA) is to provide leadership in health care in this area and to be a spokesman for the members of the association and its natural approach to health and wellness. The HCCA is the representative of the member Doctors of Chiropractic in this area. It is the purpose of the HCCA to preserve, protect, improve and promote the chiropractic profession and the services of member Doctors of Chiropractic for the benefit of patients they serve. The HCCA accomplishes this mission by promoting high standards in professional ethics and quality of treatment and by carrying out a dynamic plan to help ensure the professional growth and success of our Doctor of Chiropractic members. The HCCA is the source of information and knowledge on the chiropractic profession and its practitioners in this area.

MISSION STATEMENT: It is the mission of the Hamilton County Chiropractic Association (HCCA) to provide a forum for the presentation of chiropractic to the public sector. It is the mission of the HCCA to guard the image of the profession and to aggressively advocate for chiropractors and their patients. It will do this by formulating guidelines for membership in the HCCA; by advising the public of the purpose of the HCCA and thereby the purpose of its members; by providing a forum for the public to discuss their experiences with members of this association; and by educating the members and the public on what is expected from the profession.
